1967 SSRS Convertible Diecast Modeling
Modeling the Blue Marvel
Danbury Mint Die-cast modeling:
Camaro-Restorations was recently contacted by representatives of the Danbury Mint Automobilia Collection. Survey data had determined that automobilia collectors were looking for a correct diecast representation of a 1967 Camaro convertible. Danbury Mint was looking for the perfect car to create the model from.
On a follow up phone call Camaro-Restorations and model designers discussed the criteria and determined that Steve Reinero's Blue 1967 convertible would be excellent candidate for diecast modeling.
Design Circle, a company that does site visit photography and computer blueprinting for Danbury Mint scheduled a visit to Camaro-Restorations. Three technicians arrived to collect documentation, photography, and to begin digitizing the Nantucket Blue marvel. In 3 days the men invested over 100 hours, 600 film photos, countless digital photos, and layers of digitized graphics. When it was all done, they had heard and seen it all, concluding "Steve Reinero is an unmatched Camaro expert".
It would take 4 years to produce a model ready for consumers. We received ours in November 2008. Just in time for Christmas gifts. The first model received by Camaro-Restorations was rightfully gifted to David Reinero, Brother of Steve Reinero, and co-builder of this Nantucket Blue Marvel. We hope you enjoy the photos.
